1990s
Although it was introduced in 1998, the Chevrolet Silverado feels like it has been around for a longer time. Year after year, the Silverado contends with the Ford F-150 for best-selling vehicle in the US, posting more than half a million sales on a regular basis. The Silverado has been GM’s most popular model for a long time, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
With the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you can choose from a multitude of variants with different powertrain configurations. And if you’re looking to go all-electric, there’s also the Silverado EV, which debuted last year. Per usual, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions of the Silverado 1500 are both available. There’s also the off-road-minded Silverado ZR2 which comes with nearly a foot of ground clearance plus a high-performance suspension with Multimatic DSSV dampers. Whichever Silverado you drive, you can’t make a mistake with one of America’s greatest trucks of all time.
How Much Power Does a Chevy Silverado Have?

There’s also a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 hp and a smaller 5.3-liter V8 rated at 355 hp. For those who have grown accustomed to diesel powertrains, the 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six is also available, which produces 277 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque.
